Keno Strategies That Are Sure To Win
It won't usually be thought of as the most lucrative game in the world of gambling, but keno has tons of fanatical fans. As well it should! It's a regularly exciting lottery-esque game that's a breeze to master, abundantly available in loads of assorted variations, and one that can pay out mega-dollars for people who learn its innumerable subtle rules. But let's begin with the basics for now.
When explaining keno to newbies, some gaming pros compare it to bingo. This is at least to a certain extent apt, in that each game is fundamentally numerical. But to take that comparison too far would be to minimize the innumerable unique characteristics that make keno so entertaining. Unlike bingo, keno gamblers have the freedom to pick the numbers for each and every card.
Keno cards have a total of eighty numbers, but the gambler is granted an extra degree of personal responsibility by being able to determine as many (or as few) numbers as he or she thinks is appropriate. And it doesn't take a nuclear physicist to come up with how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark each of your selected numbers with a good oldpen like you used back in the day.
After you've picked your numbers, carry the card back to the clerk at the keno stand. The girl will record your numbers and then give you a receipt. Do not drop this (potentially) expensive bit of paper! Even if the keno pit manager remembers your pretty face and would like to help out, without a winning slip in hand, you will be given exactly $.00 for your time spent.
OK, so there you have strategy number one: always take care to keep your keno ticket. Let us move to something a tiny bit more complicated, what do you think?
Now that you've marked your numbers, get yourself into a comfortable keno booth and watch the action happen on a monitor. This is where the winning numbers are shown for us. If you picked winning numbers, mark your card accordingly. Make sure not to drag your feet, or sit there praising yourself for an obnoxious length of time. You want to get up to the keno booth to redeem your winnings, and then a new round of keno will surely begin within 5 minutes.
Strategy number 2: always make it back to the keno booth on time!
Since you don't trust yourself to make that five-minute margin every time, you always have the option of using a "multi-race" card. These include the self same set of your picked numbers on anywhere from 2 to 20 cards. When the maximum amount of games (matching the number of tickets) is completed, you can then get off your lazy back side and go collect your winnings.
Yet another opportunity is recognized as a "stray and play" keno ticket, which commonly lets you make number picks for 30 games or more. Hell, you can take a Swedish massage and not have to worry about getting back in time to redeem your numbers. Most "stray and play" slips are good for up to a whole year after it's bought!
So now you know a couple of needed strategies for winning keno. If you are an accomplished user, they may appear to be quite obvious. But it doesn't hurt to brush up on the basics, and if you are a newbie gambler, every little bit of direction will help make your keno betting more fun.
