Keno was created in two hundred before Christ by the Chinese army leader, Cheung Leung who used this game as a way to finance his declining army. The city of Cheung was at war, and after a bit of war time seemed to be looking at a national shortage of food with the dramatic decrease in supplies. Cheung Leung needed to come up with a quick response for the economic adversity and to create revenue for his forces. He, as it follows created the game we now know as keno and it was a great success.

Keno once was well-known as the White Pigeon Game, since the winning numbers were delivered by pigeons from larger cities to the tinier towns. The lottery 'Keno' was brought to the US in the 1800s by Chinese immigrants who came to the US for work. In those times, Keno used one hundred and twenty numbers.

Today, Keno is generally enjoyed with 80 numbers in almost all of the US based casinos along with internet casinos. Keno is mainly played today as a consequence of the relaxed nature of playing the game and the basic fact that there are little expertise required to play Keno. Regardless of the reality that the odds of getting a win are appalling, there is constantly the hope that you might win quite large with little gambling investment.

Keno is played with 80 numbers with 20 numbers picked each round. Players of Keno can choose from 2 to ten numbers and gamble on them, whatever amount they are able to. The pay out of Keno is according to the wagers made and the roll out of matching numbers.

Keno has grown in acceptance in the US since the close of the 19th century when the Chinese letters were changed with , US numbers. Lottos weren't covered under the legalization of gaming in Nevada State in 1931. The casinos adjusted the name of the 'Chinese lottery' to 'horse race keno' employing the concept that the numbers are horses and you are looking for your horses to place. When a law passed that taxed off track wagering, casinos quickly adjusted the name to 'Keno'.
