Keno Strategies That Work
It won't commonly be looked at as the most lucrative game in the realm of wagering, but keno has tons of devout followers. And why not? It's a constantly exciting lotto-type game that's easy to play, readily available in loads of assorted variations, and one that will pay out millions of dollars for people who master its countless subtle nuances. But let's begin with the basic rules for now.
When defining keno to beginners, some gambling experts compare it to the lottery. This is at least in some measure apt, in that both games are essentially numerical. Yet to carry that comparison too far can be to think too little of the good many unique traits that make keno so exciting. Unlike bingo, keno enthusiasts have the ability to choose the numbers for each card.
Keno cards have a total of 80 numbers, but the player is granted an extra degree of personal responsibility by being able to determine as many (or as few) numbers as she thinks is appropriate. And it doesn't take a genius to come up with how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all your selected numbers with a ordinarymarker like you had when you were in third grade.
After you have selected your numbers, carry the game card back to the girl at the keno stand. The girl will record those numbers and then hand you a receipt. Do not misplace this (potentially) valuable piece of paper! Even if the clerk remembers your mug and would like to help out, without a winning slip in hand, you will be given precisely $.00 for your time spent.
Ok, there you have strategy #1: always make sure to keep your keno slip. Let's go on to something a little bit more complex, ok?
After you've checked off your numbers, get into a comfortable keno booth and see the action take place on a big video monitor. That is where the winning numbers appear in lights. If you have winning numbers, mark your card appropriately. Sake care not to take too much time, or sit there praising yourself for an obnoxious length of time. You want to get up to the keno stand to collect your winnings, and then a new keno game will surely begin within a few minutes.
Strategy #2: always get back to the keno stand on time!
Assuming you can not trust yourself to meet that five-minute margin each time, you always retain the option of buying a "multi-race" ticket. These include the self same set of your selected numbers on anywhere from 2 to 20 slips. When the max number of keno games (matching the amount of tickets) is played, you are then able to get off your lazy back side and go collect your winnings.
Still another alternative is recognized as a "stray and play" keno slip, which usually lets you make number choices for 30 games or more. Heck, you can take vacation to Greece and not have to worry about getting back in time to collect your winnings. Most "stray and play" slips are good for up to a whole year after it's purchased!
And now you have learned a number of essential schemes for winning keno. If you are a discerning keno player, they may appear to be quite obvious. Still, it does not hurt to study up on the basic practices, and if you are a newbie player, every bit of information will help make your keno experience more enjoyable.
